Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his visit to the Northeast, presented a guitar to 7-year-old Mizoram prodigy Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte after she delivered a heartfelt rendition of Vande Mataram in Aizawl on Saturday.

Expressing his admiration, Shah emphasized how patriotism unites the nation. “Love for Bharat unites us all. Deeply moved to listen to Mizoram’s wonder kid Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte singing Vande Mataram in Aizawl today. The seven-year-old’s love for Bharat Mata poured out into her song, making listening to her a mesmerizing experience,” he wrote in a post on X.

Esther, a young singing sensation, first gained national recognition in 2020 when a video of her performing Maa Tujhe Salaam went viral. Her powerful voice and patriotic spirit earned her widespread praise, along with multiple awards from the Mizoram government, including special recognition from the Governor.

Amit Shah is currently on a three-day visit to Assam and Mizoram, starting March 14. On Saturday, he attended the official ceremony marking the transfer of land from the Assam Rifles to the Mizoram government.

Praising the Assam Rifles for their service, Shah lauded their role in fostering security and fraternity in Mizoram. “The Assam Rifles has served the people of Mizoram through the guiding principle of security through fraternity. Today, the force set an exemplary standard in commitment to the people by handing over a significant portion of its land to the state govt for the benefit of the people,” he posted on X.

He further highlighted that the relocation of the Assam Rifles Headquarters from central Aizawl to Zokhawsang was a long-pending demand, now fulfilled under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The move, he said, was not just administrative but symbolic of the Indian government’s commitment to the Mizo people.

“This demand, which has been around for 30-35 years, is now set to be fulfilled due to an important decision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is not just an administrative decision but a symbol of the Indian government’s responsibility towards the Mizo people,” Shah stated.

He also spoke about the Modi government’s efforts to transform the Northeast over the past decade, citing developments in tourism, technology, agriculture, and entrepreneurship as key areas of growth and unity.
